Ferret Friends Inc. is a Tucson organization chartered in 1986 by the International Ferret Association of Roanoke, Virginia. The clubs primary purpose is to provide information about ferrets, and to rescue homeless and unwanted ferrets. A lost and found file is maintained. Ferrets are kept until the owner is found or they are adopted. All rescue ferrets are vaccinated for canine distemper and rabies, and spayed and neutered. The club sponsors an annual Fall Fun Show, and a Spring Fling. Ferret Friends publishes a newsletter, has three vaccination clinics per year. All meetings are open to the public and free. Individuals do not have to be ferret owners to participate in club events.
Ferret Friends Inc. is run solely by volunteers, who take ferrets into their homes and try and do their best in regards to getting them adopted out. We have several foster parents that take in ferrets as we get them, they get them their shots and any other medical attention they need. We do not have a dedicated building we run out of, it is due to our volunteers and their dedication that we continue to exist. Almost all of the people who volunteer, including the board members, have jobs. Please keep this in mind when contacting individuals for information, adoptions, or help. We try to respond quickly, but this doesn't always happen. Please leave messages on answering machines or try more than once to get a hold of someone; Email is really the best way (ferretfriendsoftucson@yahoo.com).
We want to help you in any way possible. We also ask that if you reconsider and decide not to adopt, to please call or leave message so that we do not waste time trying to get a hold of you. We understand that things happen in your life to change your decision, we would like the courtesy of you letting us know.
